Abhishekam

Abhishekam is a sacred ritual in which a deity’s idol or Shiva Lingam is ceremonially bathed with various holy substances such as water, milk, honey, ghee, yogurt, and fruit juices. This ritual is performed to honor the deity, purify the environment, and invoke blessings of prosperity, health, spiritual upliftment, and protection from negative energies. Abhishekam is often accompanied by chanting mantras and devotional hymns.
